7. MID Activation & Going Live

Once the JPSL system confirms that all required signatures are valid on the Merchant Agreement, onboarding enters the final automated provisioning phase.

Step 7.1 — Merchant ID (MID) Creation

JPSL's system automatically generates your Merchant ID (MID) — a unique alphanumeric identifier that represents your account across the entire JPSL payment network.

Your MID becomes visible on your Application Status Dashboard.

ℹ️ MID Created ≠ MID Active At the moment of creation, your MID status is Inactive. Live transaction processing is disabled until all backend configurations are complete in Step 7.2. This is expected behaviour — you do not need to take any action.

Step 7.2 — Backend Configuration (24–48 Hours)

JPSL's technical engineering team performs the following configurations:

Configuration	Description
Merchant Terminal Setup	Secure terminal profiles are created for your MID
Payment Mode Activation	Your selected payment modes (UPI, cards, net banking, etc.) are enabled and routed
Fraud Engine Alignment	Transaction monitoring rules are set to the risk limits agreed in your contract
Health Checks	End-to-end quality assurance and system validation

Once all checks pass, your MID status automatically flips to Active. You will not receive an intermediate notification for this — wait for the Welcome email described below.

Step 7.3 — Welcome Email & Going Live

The moment your MID is activated:

An automated "Welcome to JPSL" email is sent to your registered primary business email address.
This email contains your initial login credentials and a temporary password for the live JPSL Merchant Dashboard.
Log in with these credentials. You will be prompted to set a new permanent password on first login.

From the live Merchant Dashboard you can:

Generate your live API keys for payment gateway integration
Integrate the payment gateway into your website's checkout flow
Configure role-based access for your finance and technical teams
View real-time transaction analytics
Manage refunds and disputes
Monitor settlement reports

⚠️ Two Separate Systems — Two Separate Logins The JPSL Connect portal (jiopay.co.in/jioconnect) is used only for onboarding. Once your MID is active, you will use a completely separate live Merchant Dashboard with a different URL and different credentials.

Do not attempt to log into the live dashboard using your onboarding portal credentials — they will not work. Wait for the "Welcome to JPSL" email which contains the correct credentials for the live environment.

Onboarding Complete

You have successfully completed all seven stages of JPSL merchant onboarding.
