This guide walks you through every step required to register, verify your business, execute your Merchant Agreement, and go live — entirely online, with no physical paperwork.
Before You Start
Make sure you have read the Pre-Requisites page and gathered all required documents before beginning. Starting without your documents is the single most common cause of incomplete applications.
💡 Tip Allow 45–60 minutes for self-completion (Stages 1–4), plus processing windows for Stages 5 and 7. Total elapsed time is typically 3–7 business days.
Supported Business Types
You can complete this onboarding flow for the following entity types:
- Sole Proprietorship
- Partnership
- Private Limited Company
- Public Limited Company
- Trust
- Society
If your business type is not listed, do not start the application yet. Review the Document Checklist by Entity Type or contact support first.
The Onboarding Journey
Your onboarding is structured across seven sequential stages. Each stage must be completed before the next one becomes available.

| 4a | Adding Signatories | Declare authorised signatories & beneficial owners, upload KYC proofs | 10–15 min |
| 4b | Infosec Questionnaire | Complete IT security self-assessment questionnaire | 10 min |
| 4c | Document Repository | Verify all mandatory documents are uploaded (and other documents if requested) | 5 min |
| 5 | Final Submission & Review | Submit to JPSL team for underwriting | 2 min + 24–48 hr wait |
| 6 | Agreement & Aadhaar E-Sign | Review and digitally sign the Merchant Application Form | 10 min |
| 7 | MID Activation & Going Live | MID created, configured, and activated | 24–48 hr wait |
Application Status — What Each State Means
